Celtic Solstice / Paul Winter

Paul Winter (Altoona, de Pennsylvania, 31 de agosto de 1939) es un músico estadounidense especializado en el saxofón soprano; también toca el alto. También es compositor musical, habiendo sido un pionero de la llamada worldmusic. Fundó su propio sello de discos, Living Music. Además, es también un destacado activista ecológico, incluyendo en sus disco sonidos de la naturaleza y de animales, como ballenas.

Celtic Soltice (Grammy award) fue grabado durante el solsticio de verano de 1998 en la catedral gótica de Nueva York, St. John the Divine.

Grammy-winning CELTIC SOLSTICE was born from the creative interplay of Irish and American musicians in a contemporary celebration of the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year within the magnificent space of the world's largest gothic cathedral, New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
